Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Greek Olive Fusion, we believe that everyone should be able to explore, learn about, and purchase our specialty Mediterranean foods with ease and dignity. As a small, family-minded business, we are committed to making our website inclusive and welcoming to all visitors, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not a one-time project for us — it is an ongoing part of how we build, test, and improve our online store.

Target Standard

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments. While we cannot guarantee that every page or feature is fully conformant at all times, WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard we measure ourselves against.

Current Measures in Place

Our site is built on a modern Next.js and Tailwind CSS stack, which gives us strong foundations for accessibility. Current measures include:

  • Semantic HTML — we use meaningful headings, landmarks, lists, and buttons so that the structure of each page is clear to assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard navigation — interactive elements such as menus, product cards, filters, and the checkout flow can be reached and operated using only a keyboard.
  • Alt text on product imagery — our olives, oils, and pantry items include descriptive alternative text so screen reader users can understand what is shown.
  • Color contrast checks — we review text and background combinations against WCAG AA contrast ratios and adjust our Tailwind palette accordingly.
  • Screen-reader-friendly forms — input fields on our cart, checkout, and contact forms use proper labels, error messages, and focus states.

Known Limitations

We want to be honest about where we still have work to do. Despite our best efforts, some areas of our site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA:

  • Some third-party embedded content from our payment processor and shipping partners may not fully meet our accessibility standards, and we have limited control over their interfaces.
  • Older marketing imagery may have alt text that is shorter or less descriptive than we would like.
  • Certain interactive components are still being audited for screen reader announcements and focus management.

We are actively tracking these issues and working to address them in future updates.

Compatibility

Our site is designed to work with the latest versions of major browsers — including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge — and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, and keyboard-only navigation. Some features may not perform as expected in older or unsupported browsers.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing journey. We commit to:

  • Conducting periodic accessibility audits of key pages, including the homepage, product pages, cart, and checkout.
  • Providing accessibility training and resources to our small team so that new features are built with inclusion in mind from the start.
  • Reviewing this statement regularly and updating it as our site evolves.

If you encounter any accessibility barrier on our site, please let us know — we want everyone to be able to enjoy our products.
